The 3rd Missouri Infantry C.S.A.

Crowley’s 3rd. MO. Confederate Infantry is a Civil War reenacting unit based around Kansas City Missouri, portraying and teaching the history of the American Civil War through living it. The Third Missouri, originally known as Crowley's Clay County Company, is the oldest Civil War re-enactment unit in Missouri. Established in 1976, the Third Missouri is dedicated to the preservation of our American Civil War heritage by accurately portraying the Civil War soldier from Missouri during the war of the rebellion. We are Company I, 3rd Missouri Infantry, a family oriented non-profit organization. Based in the Kansas City area, we are dedicated to maintaining and bringing to life the history and visions of our great nation and state as it occurred during the American Civil War. New Civil War reenactors are invited to contact Capt. Christian Shuster for additional information.

The 7th-Missouri Medical

The 7th is a department of the 7th and 30th Volunteer Infantry USV.  The unit is actively recruiting Hospital Stewards, Hospital Attendants, Nurses and stretcher-bearers for the 2008 Campaign season and  “The Battle of Westport.”

Fort Leavenworth Historical Society

Operating since 1955, the Fort Leavenworth Historical Society protects and shares the history and the heritage of the U.S. Army on the frontier and the
Fort Leavenworth area. We encourage education on the frontier army and Fort
Leavenworth through monthly programs, run the museum gift shop, and donate funds to the Frontier Army Museum to purchase additional artifacts for the collection. Army leaders since the 1880s have been coming through Fort Leavenworth, and our monthly programs also extend to nearly all conflicts that the United States has been involved.

Friends of Missouri Town 1855

Missouri Town 1855 portrays an antebellum farming community, spread across some thirty gently sloping acres and comprised of over twenty-five buildings, dating from 1820-1860. This living history museum includes original structures, furnishings and equipment; interpreters in period attire, authentic field and garden crops and rare livestock breeds. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Jacomo in Blue
Springs, Missouri.

The Friends of Missouri Town 1855 is a volunteer organization devoted to supporting the village with interpreters and programs. We participate in events
and activities, both on site and into the community.  Members do schoolroom presentations about the village. A dance group performs with a live band both at the village and other locations.

Historical Society of New Santa Fe

With a focus on the history of New Santa Fe and Watts Mill during the pioneer days, the society maintains the Trailside Center at 9901 Holmes in Kansas City. The Trailside Center includes a meeting room that can be reserved by public groups, a tourist information area and a museum focusing on the Battle of Westport The Trailside Center is certified by the National Park Service as part of the National Historic Santa Fe, Oregon and California Trails and is a Trailshead for the KCMO Parks & Recreation Indian Creek. Historical society meetings are held on the first Thursdays of each month.

Kansas City Baseball Historical Society

A non-profit organization formed in 2008 to help preserve the history of baseball in the region.  The organization focuses on all levels of baseball from high school to professional teams. Missouri Society Sons of the American Revolution -- H S Truman Chapter

Men and boys from Jackson county, Missouri and the local area, who are interested in documenting their relationship to their American Revolutionary ancestors and joining an active group with similar interest are invited to attend.  The Chapter also has a Color Guard that includes 15 colonial flags and a musket presentation.  The Color Guard is available for parades, meetings and programs by contacting the organization.  (Provided by organization)
