Excelsior
Springs has at last an absolutely modern and thoroughly up-to-date
Hotel-The Chadwick. It was opened but recently to the public, and at once
combines a quiet elegance and a most satisfactory and home-like atmosphere
but seldom met with.
The Chadwick is a handsome
building of four stories, and the exterior is especially pleasing. The
cost is $45,000.00 and the location is most ideal, being in close
proximity to all Mineral Springs, Baths, Places of Amusement, and yet is a
step removed from the dirt and noise of the business center. Wide verandas
surround the building, making a most commodious and comfortable lounging
place.
The interior has been
finished in hard wood with hard wood floors and the decorations are in
most pleasing taste and harmonious tints. There is steam heat and electric
lights, while the service leaves nothing to be desired, each department
receiving the personal attention of the management.

The
living apartments are especially enjoyable in their size, and each of the
fifty rooms has hot and cold water, private telephones, iron beds, box
springs and hair mattresses, Axminster and Melton Carpets, the finest of
linens and beautiful decorations. The rooms are arranged singly, ensuite
and many have private bath on each floor.
The
hotel is operated on both the American and European plan, and the cuisine
[sic] is satisfactory
in every respect, the table service being either a la carte or table de
hote [sic]. Everything
considered, the rates at The Chadwick are most reasonable.
Write
in advance for accommodations. The management invites you to make the
hotel your home while visiting Excelsior Springs, and will use the utmost
endeavor to please you.
