visitor’s center featuring an exhibit on Kansas’one-room schools
called Just Plain Simple: The One-Room School in Kansas. The
school is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

constructed the present brick building in 1873 following a
devastating fire that destroyed the original structure. Today

events. Children visiting the school experience firsthand a
19th century classroom lesson with period dress and instruction.
