The Civil War -- 150th Anniversary Observance
As America observes the 150th Anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War WindingRiver.com has established three editorial projects to assist in commemorating that history in northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas.
While each of these projects is educational in its own right, time and resources has not allowed them to be a comprehensive treatment of the subject. Rather, each of the projects is organized to act as a conduit for history-related groups and organizations in the WindingRiver.com editorial territory to provide links to their information. It is through this sharing of links that a more comprehensive story of the events surrounding the observance of this momentous times in our history can be more fully understood.
The Border War History project and the Civil War Almanac project has been developed by WindingRiver.com Special Projects Editor, Harold Dellinger. Dellinger will continue to work on the development of these two projects and act as an editorial advisor on the third project, Civil War Links and Archives.
Your input is invited
Museums and historical organizations are invited to submit links to articles on their websites that will provide additional information on these projects. Articles and guest editorials will also be considered for publication and archiving on WindingRiver.com.
